'I worship and adore the true and living God'

Stepping Stones

Hi, my name is Robyn, and me and my friends, Harry and Lilly, help at Stepping Stones. We meet lots of little children and their mums or grans and sometimes a dad or other adult who looks after them.
Every Monday when other children are at school, we come together in the Barn at St. Alban’s Church to have a fun time. Me and my friends like to welcome everyone with Hi 5’s and then we settle down for a little story about God and how He does wonderful things. We sometimes help with this too. (Harry even gets to sit on a donkey sometimes) Then we all join in singing a song or two about Jesus and His love for us. We get to jump up and down and wave our arms as we praise Jesus. We have a prayer and then, if anyone has a birthday, we get to sing again, and they get a present and card.
There’s always a craft or colouring to do if we want to, but usually we go off to play with the toys that are around the room. There’s a play kitchen and food, Peppa Pig toys, loads of cars and a train set, books and jigsaws, a farm and Noah’s Ark with lots of animals. There’s also lots of toys for the babies who come too.
We have a snack time when we all sit at the table and have some good things to eat. We each have a little plate of food. I like the little breadsticks, but Harry prefers the biscuit, and Lilly always eats the fruit first. Mums and carers get a drink and biscuit too while they watch over us.
After we have played some more and we are getting a little bit tired, we all gather together again and sing some Nursery Rhymes. We know when this time comes that it will soon be ‘tidy up time’ and it we will have to go home, but we all have fun tidying up and putting the toys away ready for next week.
All this fun only costs £1.50 for all the family each time you come, so why not join us at 9.30 on Monday mornings, during school term time, in the Barn at St. Alban’s.
