Fundraising at St. Alban's Church

A Fundraising Team of 9 church members came together in September 2024 following calls to raise funds to contribute to the cost of a new heating system in church.
To date almost £10,000 has been raised, through generous donations and by events and initiatives that have been well supported by members of the congregation, friends and local businesses.
Our events have been wide ranging and have covered local history, music, comedy, and personal experiences, all under the heading of: An Evening With….. ,where invited guests have entertained us, often accompanied with slideshows.
We had a special evening Christmas Carol service entitled Bark the Herald, where people were invited to bring their dog ( other pets were welcomed!) . In the Spring we held a Marriage themed flower festival open weekend in church. During the summer Cream Teas were served in the barn while Hymns and Pimms were enjoyed in the church barn garden.
Our regular Friday coffee mornings have proved to be particularly popular and well supported. We meet in the barn, on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month to enjoy a selection of hot drinks, home baked treats and a social catch up with friends. 
The Fundraising Team meet regularly to review our programme, suggest new guests to invite and are considering holding Saturday afternoon events in the Autumn and Winter months to encourage supporters to come out and be entertained during the day, and contribute to our fund raising efforts!
