'I worship and adore the true and living God'

Music at St. Alban's
I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.
1 Corinthians: 14:15
Music features prominently in many of our services, ranging from congregational hymn singing to choral and instrumental music that marks the seasons of the Church year. Our festival services in particular—such as Christmas, Easter, and other major celebrations—are known for their special musical offerings and joyful participation.
Within our worship you will hear a wide range of music, from well-loved traditional hymns, Anglican chant, and choral classics to more recent compositions and new hymns. This variety reflects both the richness of the Church’s musical heritage and the living, evolving nature of worship today.
Above all, the musical life of St. Alban’s is sustained by the enthusiasm, talent, and dedication of our musicians and congregation. Whether through choir, organ, instrumental contributions, or the voices of the gathered church, music continues to play a central role in expressing our praise and drawing people together in worship.
We are always developing the music at St. Alban’s for the future of our church and a project to maintain our junior choir in these changing times was launched in 2021 through the introduction of ‘Make a Cheerful Noise’. Our digital Pheonix organ was augmented in 2017 and plans are in place to continue the improvement of the organ.
